Hotels worth booking for the restaurant alone

Ten dining rooms on one Corniche property, headlined by the world's largest Nobu in its own seafront pavilion and Curiosa, the Latin leaning fine dining room from Jean Georges Vongerichten. A private beach, five pools and Makani Beachclub dinners under the stars make it the easiest luxury base in West Bay.

Stay here for Sora, the Japanese restaurant and rooftop terrace 21 storeys above Msheireb with panoramic views over the Doha Palace, Green Mosque, Souq Waqif, the Corniche and the West Bay skyline. Downstairs, Opus does a French and Qatari fusion menu on another outdoor terrace, and Souq Waqif and the Museum of Islamic Art are walkable.

Nine dining outlets in the middle of Msheireb, including IZU by chef Izu Ani for French Mediterranean cooking, Cantonese at Liang, and the seasonal AQUA rooftop for cocktails and city views. The Baraha Lounge looks straight out over the Barahat Msheireb courtyard, which is the district's outdoor living room.

An all suite hotel inside the crossed swords silhouette of Katara Towers, worth booking for ALBA, its Michelin starred Italian restaurant built around Piedmont truffle, and Acoustic, the rooftop with panoramic Lusail skyline views. Katara Hall's sweeping terraces look over Lusail Marina and the sea beyond.

The other half of Katara Towers, and the reason to stay is PROVOK: bold Pan Asian plates, teppanyaki theatre and sweeping rooftop views. Below it, VAYA serves Latin American ceviches and Argentinian style steaks with Arabian Gulf views, and CYRA is a Lebanese botanical shisha garden.

Eight distinct restaurants in Doha's newest tower district, from Shanghai style Koo Madame to Asaya Kitchen, a Qatari produce and sustainable seafood room run by an all female brigade. The Shisha Terrace, a sheltered deck above the blue water of the Arabian Gulf, is the one to book at dusk, and Sikar handles cigars and rare spirits after dinner.

A palatial resort on its own private island off The Pearl, with 281 rooms that all have balconies over the Arabian Gulf, a private beach and 11 dining venues. Eat at Qamar Lounge, where Middle Eastern plates are served in teepees under the stars, or Al Sufra for Levantine and Cypriot home cooking.

An island resort reached from the city, with a fully alcohol free dining line up: Riva for contemporary Italian and its Friday Riviera Brunch, Al Nahham for mezze until midnight, and Q-ONE Lounge, a floating deck built for the view (closed in summer, reopening 1 October 2026). Tanzerin does beachside drinks and light bites until sunset.

A 27 storey Marcel Wanders fantasy next to the Zig Zag Towers, with dramatic city and bay views and eight dining and nightlife venues. Morimoto pairs wagyu gyoza with Hiroshi Senju paintings, Walima serves mezze against the cityscape, and Smoke and Mirrors and Black Orchid keep the night going.

Nine small hotels folded into the souq itself, from Bismillah, Doha's oldest hotel, to Al Bidda in a former noble family home. The reason to stay is the view over the alleys: Al Matbakh is a rooftop Indian restaurant above the market and Al Shurfa Arabic Lounge sits over the sounds of the souqs below, with Argan doing Moroccan slow food at ground level.
